Technology Partnership Agreement has been signed between Imperial Energy Group and Liberty Resources.

On January 13th, 2009 Imperial Energy, a company with oil exploration and production operations in Tomsk, Russia, was acquired by ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), the overseas arm of India's premier National Oil company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Scope of activities and core assets of Imperial Energy are clustered in the Northern and Western part of Tomsk region. Its corporate office is located in Tomsk.

Towards exploitation of its low permeability hard-to-recover tight sand reservoirs, the company had been extensively engaged in scouting for experienced technology partner/s having knowledge and experience in successfully exploiting such reservoirs. Along with this, Imperial Energy had also been exploring the prospects of exploiting the Bazhenov Shale Formation estimated to have good potential.

As a result of its commitment to exploit the hard to recover oils from tight sand reservoirs as well as Bazhenov shale in its acreages, on the 12th of September 2013 Imperial has signed an technology partnership agreement with Liberty Resources (USA), a Denver-based E&P Company and one of the global leaders in hydro-fracturing technology and completion in tight reservoirs.

Imperial Energy hopes that the pilot programs to be executed under this strategic technology partnership with Liberty Resources would give positive results for adoption of the technology for full-fledged and economically feasible development of the hard-to-recover tight reservoirs and the Bazhenov shale with the support of the recently declared reliefs in MET declared by the Federal Government of Russia for them.
